Long Island College Hospital of Brooklyn is a 516-bed teaching hospital, located in the Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn. DIRECTOR, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

This extraordinary leader will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Ambulance Department. You will run five 911 units with a staff of 55 people – a position that will allow you to further your career and grow the department. Even more important, this role will speak to your dedication to helping people and solving problems – the emotional rewards that drew you to this kind of work in the first place. 

Your ability to get along with others will be a huge advantage as you work with upper management at the Hospital, NYPD and NYFD, and as you act as Liaison between the Hospital and regulatory and government agencies during a drill or disaster. Your organizational and fiscal skills will be put to good use as you prepare annual budgets, manage staffing requirements, establish priorities and accomplish work activities.

The candidate we seek will have the following required licensure: NYS DOH and NYC REMAC Paramedic. National Registry preferred. Also required are current certifications of ACLS, BCLS, and PALS, along with 5 years minimum as an EMS Director in a healthcare facility.   Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, Hazmat Awareness, Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness and Decontamination Awareness; and good command of the English language, both verbal and written, are essential. A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is highly preferred.

911 Dispatcher - Police/Fire Communications Specialist

The Port of Seattle is accepting lateral applications for police and fire communications specialists.

Application

Complete an Online HR Application.

Your application must provide clear and detailed information on your relevant education, training and work experience and history. A resume is not required for this application process. You may submit a resume with your application, but a resume will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application. An incomplete or partially completed application may be rejected.

CritiCall Testing: Your application will be screened to ensure you meet the minimum qualifications. If selected from the initial screening process, we will contact you to schedule CritiCall testing (job-specific computerized testing).

Oral Board: After being invited to and passing job-specific computerized testing, you will be invited to a panel oral interview.

Civil Service Eligibility List: Based on the combined scores of the CritiCall test and the oral board (CritiCall is weighted at  25 percent  and the oral board is weighted at 75 percent for the final score), as well as veteran's preference points, qualified candidates will be merged onto the existing entry-level or lateral eligibility list. The list determines the order in which background investigations are conducted.

All Port of Seattle Civil Service positions have a graded examination process that applicants must successfully complete with a passing score. Successful applicants will be placed on the ranked eligibility list in order, based on their individual score.

Candidates must successfully pass an extensive background check, medical, and polygraph examination.
