The Communications Manager directs and manages the communications center operations including the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, oversight of the day-to-day communications center operations and schedule, new communications technician training, employee development, keeping the employees and management team informed, developing and producing reports using CAD and other data and providing information as requested by the management team. CHeck out thier company website at http://www.pridemark.net Required Duties and Responsibilities: -Oversees and provides expert support to the Communications Team -Conducts ongoing technology assessment of Communications equipment to assure contract compliance -Establishes relationships with customers and has regularly scheduled meetings to address any issues -Responsible for the budget and staffing of the Communications Center -Consults with and serves as an interface with the medical staff and appropriate committees for the purpose of insuring coordination in systems planning, development and implementation -Responsible for overall planning, development, and implementation of an effective Communications system -Establish goals for improvement and provides feedback to the Director of Operations -Tracks and advises on industry standards for emergent and non-emergent responses -Handles Communications Center incidents and personnel matters and assists in their timely resolution -Maintain a high level of professionalism and efficiency in daily operations -Oversees staff schedule to assure proper coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year -Oversees all general reports produced by CAD data to assure accuracy -Responsible for being approachable and accessible as a problem solving resource -Act as a bridge to implement operational, support service, or clinical services needs as they relate to the Communications Center -Implement new equipment and/or protocol change including employee orientation and education -Act as a public relations liaison -Responsible for completing routine employee evaluations in a timely manner -Participate in the Internal Review Board and the Safety Committee as needed -Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures as set forth by the Company and/or Medical Director -Provides strong leadership and strategic direction for the Communications Center -Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: -High School diploma or equivalent -Must possess 3 years of supervisory experience in an dispatch center environment -Current Emergency Medical Dispatch certification -Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently -Four years experience in an EMS system dispatch center -Experience implementing and managing System Status Planning and System Status Management systems -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Ability to maintain a professional profile and demonstrate self control -Demonstrate genuine desire to teach, coach, and mentor the field staff Preferred Qualifications: -Three years dispatch experience -EMD – Q certification -Crystal Reports experience/expertise
